临江仙·送宇文德和被召赴行在所鉴赏
这是一首送别词。上片写送别的情景。词人的朋友宇文德和被召赴行在所，词人为他饯行，坐在榕树之阴，痛饮美酒，以壮其行。二人依依难舍，全然没有顾及到叠鼓频催，促人登舟。二人一直饮到暮色苍茫新月已经悄悄地徘徊于山巅。离愁缕缕，有如秋水，二人不忍遽别。友情之深，留恋之意尽在不言之中，场面由热烈而渐次清静，又为二人留下许多畅叙衷肠的机会。由月上暮山，到次日天明，晓帆将开，二人皆已醉意朦胧，纵然难舍，也到了不得不分手的时候。
换头，化愁为慰，友人被召赴行，词人对他寄予殷切的希望，也许可以为抗金贡献力量，现在友人全家都欢欢乐乐地走了，江上行船要忘掉一切疑虑，江边的鸥鹭也不要猜疑。最后他借苏轼鸿雁归来的典故说明南宋朝廷的形势是好的，此去也许会一帆风顺。词人和他的友人都是主战派，当时秦桧之流为了卖国求荣，陷害了许多爱国大臣，鉴于宇文德和被召、吉凶未卜，尚有隐忧，故词人写词鼓励他、宽慰他，同时也把抗金的希望寄托在他身上。词人襟怀坦白，眼界开阔，忧国之意常现于笔端，虽为送别之词，却未写一般的离愁别绪，政治上的志同道合使全词充溢着浩然正气和豪放之情。

元干出身书香门第。其父名动，进士出身，官至龙图阁直学士，能诗。张元干受其家风影响，从小聪明好学，永泰的寒光阁、水月亭是他幼年生活和读书处。十四五岁随父亲至河北官廨（在临漳县）已能写诗，常与父亲及父亲的客人唱和，人称之“敏悟”。
