译文
流水多情，客人也多情，劝我饮酒，如同似曾相识一般。杯行到手可不要推辞，这样的公道事是很难得的。弯曲的水道上，用小楷书写年月。还面对着茂密的树林高高的竹子，像当年王羲之永和年间在兰亭集会一样。
歌女抬起那籍雪一般白净而又纤细柔嫩的双手，笑着将秋天的鲜花插入了花瓶。在宴会上可别责怪她唱出了呜呜咽咽的歌声，这还算是未把离别当作一回事呢。这次一去，要看一看所有辉煌的殿堂。要问哪一年再来相聚，怕是人都老了。
注释
劝金船：词牌名，一作《泛金船》，杨绘自度曲。此调有不同渚格体，俱为双调。上、下片各八句，共八十八字。上下片第一、二、三、四、六、八句押韵，均用仄声韵。
多情客：指苏轼自身及杨绘。
杯行到手：古代有曲水流杯的习俗，宾主环绕水流而坐，杯随流水行到人的面前，则此人饮酒。
公道：公平合理。
曲水：引水环曲为渠，以流酒杯。
小字更书年月：小字，小楷。更书年月，指王羲之《兰亭集序》所载之“永和九年，岁在癸丑”。
茂林修竹：茂密的树林高高的竹子，出自《兰亭集序》中语。
永和节：指王羲之永和年间在兰亭集会。永和，东晋穆帝年号。
纤纤，纤细柔长的样子，这里形容“素手”。
咽（yè）：呜咽，声音因阻塞而低沉。
轻别：以离别为轻，意为不把离别当作一回事。
玉堂金阙：玉堂，官署名，侍中有玉堂署，宋以后翰林院亦称玉堂，这里专指翰林。金阙，帝王的宫阙。
华发：花白的头发。

宋神宗熙宁七年（1074年）九月，杭州知州杨绘入为翰林学士，该词是苏轼在送别杨绘的宴会上时所作。

劝金船·无情流水多情客鉴赏
上片写送别宴会上曲水流觞的场景。苏轼乐在曲水流杯的游戏中，把“无情流水”与“多情客”对照写来，显得饶有情味。接着将“流水”人格化，说流水劝我饮酒，苏轼和流水如同似曾相识一般。“杯行到手可不要推辞，这样的公道事是很难得的！”出语幽默，暗含着对世事的褒贬。苏轼还运用王羲之《兰亭集序》中一些现成的词语，“曲水池上”、“茂林修竹”，勾画出曲水流觞的场景，并多少透露出苏轼清雅脱俗的情怀。
下片转到写别情。“纤纤素手如霜雪，笑把秋花插。”这两句强化了送别宴会留给苏轼的美好的印象，以写歌女的肢体、表情和动作为承启的笔墨，写来像特写镜头一样鲜明。“尊前莫怪歌声咽，又还是轻别。”这两句从歌女的声情侧面触及了离别之情，别责怪歌女唱出了呜呜咽咽的歌声，不要把离别当作一回事。“此去翱翔，遍赏玉堂金胭。”这两句是专写杨绘，道出了送别的情由，以鸟的“翱翔”比喻人在仕途上的进取，以“玉堂金胭”点明杨绘入朝为翰林。“欲问再来何岁，应有华发。”写出了离别的惆怅，表达了苏轼真挚的友情。
该词是一首送别词，采用拟人、用典的写作手法，以怀古为赠别，反衬了苏轼与旧友相劝饮酒以及浓郁的情谊。苏轼凭着对生活的观察和感受的能力，既描叙了儿女柔情，又有吊古追远之意，可谓词中有诗，这是苏轼词的一大特点。该词写出了一个送别词全新的境界，已超出了一般的送别词。

苏轼（1037－1101），北宋文学家、书画家、美食家。字子瞻，号东坡居士。汉族，四川人，葬于颍昌（今河南省平顶山市郏县）。一生仕途坎坷，学识渊博，天资极高，诗文书画皆精。其文汪洋恣肆，明白畅达，与欧阳修并称欧苏，为“唐宋八大家”之一；诗清新豪健，善用夸张、比喻，艺术表现独具风格，与黄庭坚并称苏黄；词开豪放一派，对后世有巨大影响，与辛弃疾并称苏辛；书法擅长行书、楷书，能自创新意，用笔丰腴跌宕，有天真烂漫之趣，与黄庭坚、米芾、蔡襄并称宋四家；画学文同，论画主张神似，提倡“士人画”。著有《苏东坡全集》和《东坡乐府》等。
