笛声像裂石穿云一样高亢，笛子横吹，音调就更雅正了。就像下了霜的天气里的大漠，连鹧鹕也想要飞舞了。凤凰台上黑云遮盖，梅花竟被惊动，化为黄昏的雪花。人声都没了，笛子的声音把江楼上的月亮都吹落了。
注释
裂石穿云：形容笛声高亢。
玉管：笛的美称。
横：横吹。
清更洁：形容格调清雅纯正。
凤凰台：故址在今南京西南角，六朝宋时所建。相传建前该处有凤凰飞集，故称。
驻马听·吹鉴赏
音乐是听觉的艺术，随着演奏或歌唱的进行，它也随之消失在茫茫太空。古人为了表达把优美动人的音乐“留住”的意愿，就有了“余音绕梁”的神话故事：《列子·汤问》中说“昔韩娥东之齐，匮粮，过雍门，鬻歌假食，既去而余音绕梁，三日不绝，左右以其人弗去。”然而白朴的《驻马听·吹》这首小令却为读者“录”下了一段历数百年而不息的笛曲，使人们至今依然能够感受到这支笛曲的荡气回肠、悠扬嘹亮的旋律。
“驻马听”是这首小令的曲牌。这首小令起句别致，先以比喻描绘其声，再言其声缘于何物，作品基调奇特、浓烈。以“霜天沙漠，鹧鸪风里欲偏斜”比喻乐声的意境及其使闻者动情的魅力。“一声吹落江楼月”，以夸张手法引出想象的世界，曲终而意韵不绝。“梅花惊作黄昏雪”，满树梅花竟然闻笛声而惊落，飘飘洒洒如黄昏时的雪花。笛声使梅花有了人的情感，形象地显现了乐声的艺术魅力。
这首小令，通过对笛声的描绘表现了吹笛人的高超演技。作者运用通感的手法，借助想象和比喻，立体地再现了悠扬清雅的笛曲。这笛声可听——“裂石穿云”“清更洁”；这笛声可见——从苍凉、悠远、凄清的笛声中，读者似乎看到了“霜天”的凄清，“沙漠”的旷远，“鹧鸪”的低回翻飞；这笛声可感——笛声具有“感天地，泣鬼神”的艺术魅力，使得因为美妙的笛曲遏止的行云把凤凰台都遮住，满树梅花感动得纷纷飘落，化作黄昏的片片飞雪，感到“暗香浮动”送来的阵阵幽香。全曲虽然很短，但却包蕴十分丰富，层次分明而衔接浑成。一、二句写笛声响起，突兀而起，将“裂石穿云”这一异常鲜明而突出的形象比喻突如其来地布陈于读者的面前，“苦调凄金石”的音响效果和“石破天惊逗秋雨”的形象效果充分调动了读者的听觉和视觉，高度集中于这支响彻云霄的笛曲上；中间四句写笛曲吹奏，作者用了“霜天”、“沙漠”、“鹧鸪”、“暮云”、“梅花”等视觉形象，让读者通过联想感受笛曲的苍凉、旷远、凄清的意境以及摄魂夺魄的艺术魅力；以凤凰台上箫史、弄玉的历史典故暗示吹奏者具有仙人一般非同凡响的高超技艺；结尾两句写曲终，以极度夸张的“落月”效果收束全篇。在万籁俱寂之中，悠悠笛曲竟将挂在楼头的江月悄悄吹落。月落无声，映衬出笛声的魅力无穷，仿佛世界万物都深深地沉浸于乐声的感动之中。神思绵缈，意境悠远，余音绕梁，完成了对笛声艺术魅力的刻画和渲染。作者在短短的八句中，写出了三个阶段笛声的变化特点：起处的突兀，中间的丰富，结尾的余韵；更以丰富的联想，贴切的比喻，生动的夸张，自然巧妙、毫无斧凿之痕的用典写出了自己对笛曲的独特感受。

白朴（1226—约1306） 原名恒，字仁甫，后改名朴，字太素，号兰谷。汉族，祖籍隩州（今山西河曲附近），后徙居真定（今河北正定县），晚岁寓居金陵（今南京市），终身未仕。他是元代著名的文学家、曲作家、杂剧家，与关汉卿、马致远、郑光祖合称为元曲四大家。代表作主要有《唐明皇秋夜梧桐雨》、《裴少俊墙头马上》、《董月英花月东墙记》等。
