译文
许多乔木遮住西下的夕阳，我系住行船取来一捆柴薪。
静听那江边上老翁的谈话，原来都是厌恶战争的人们。
注释
江行无题：钱珝的《江行无题》共一百首，写了诗人沿江而行时的所见所闻，也写了诗人的感想。这首诗是第十二首。
翳：荫蔽。
乔木：高树。
维：系住。
束薪：一捆柴薪。
江叟：江边老翁。
厌兵：厌恶战争。
江行无题一百首·其十二创作背景
《江行无题》组诗作品是作者被贬为抚州司马赴任途中所作。晚唐朝庭政治黑暗，社会动乱不宁。当时，杨行密与朱全忠等在长江一带混战，战争给人民带来了无穷的灾难。诗人对混战的军阀十分痛恨，有感而作这组诗。

江行无题一百首·其十二鉴赏
作者对军阀所进行的战争持否定批判的态度，对遭受战争之苦的人民怀着深厚的同情。这首诗从一个侧面反映出唐末长期战乱后沿江农村的残破景象和人民强烈的厌战情绪，富有时代气息，为唐末优秀的诗作之一。
这首诗开始塑造了凄寂悲苦的意境，描写了诗人自己的活动。在乔木遮住了西下夕阳的时刻，诗人系住行船，取来了一束柴薪。这就使三、四句的描写有了着落—诗人停船之后自然听到了江边老翁的谈话，而江边老俞谈话的内容便是这首诗要表达的主要思想。“厌兵”是江边老翁谈话的中心，也是诗人的现点，也是这首诗的主题。一个“尽”字说明人们（包括诗人自己）“厌兵”的程度，从这里也可以看出战争给人民带来的灾难是多么深重。
在表现艺术上，诗人直接出场，录其所闻；结句含意比较外露，但却不是诗人直抒胸臆之辞。由于在这首诗中诗人以客观抒情诗人的姿态出现，故而使人更加感到诗境、诗情具有冷静的客观真实性，从而加强了诗歌的感染力。
