燕女美貌啊赵女佳好，居所近在咫尺啊，倩影远隔层崖，怎能见到她！
我欲乘云车风马，前往求访，她如兰似玉，僻处山野；
云有时不遇，风有时停止，我思慕多端，无以慰解，谁能为我理清这相思的烦恼？
注释
燕、赵：为二国名。战国时燕国都在今北京市大兴县，赵国都在今河北省邯郸县。古诗曰“燕赵多佳人”。这里“燕人”、“赵女”也可能是用来比贤才之士，贤才居处山野，过风云际会就出而用世。
迩（ěr）：近。限：隔着。层崖：层层山崖。
玉、兰：用美玉和兰花比喻美人。
无期：指没有约定日期。
多端：多头绪，多方面。

吴楚歌鉴赏
这首诗《玉台新咏》卷九题为《燕人美篇》，又作《燕人美兮歌》。这是一首表现思慕情感的诗。全诗仅六句。首二句着重写所思女子的美和诗人与她之间的阻隔，后四句写诗人的追求以及求之不遇的怅惘心绪。
诗歌一开头就热情赞美燕姬赵女的佳妙，表达一腔思慕之情。诗人不畏层峦叠嶂的阻隔，幻想以云为车，以风为马，驱风驾云去追求美的偶象。然而她们如兰似玉幽居山野深谷，难以寻觅，更何况风云飘忽无定，难以依靠。诗人的满腔情愫谁能理解呢？此诗篇幅不长，却将诗人的思慕之情写的宛曲有致，一波三折。
此诗写思慕情感，主要是通过对一种可望而不可即、求之而不可得的境界的描写来实现的。这类境界常见于古诗，如《诗经》中的《国风·秦风·蒹葭》和《国风·周南·汉广》两篇。陈启源《毛诗稽古篇》云：“夫说之必求之，然惟可见而不可求，则慕悦益至”，此诗的创作，显然曾受到这样的构思的影响。诗人并未正面直接地表白内心感情，描绘也不事藻饰，然而无限情思，尽在其中。诗歌采用的是楚歌体形式，每句嵌用“兮”字，自然形成一种略有参差，而大体整齐、和谐的节奏。同时它又是押韵的，“佳”“崖”为平声韵，“马”“野”“止”“理”为仄声韵。诗人似乎注意到了声韵与整首诗情调和意境的配合，这里，平声韵舒畅昂扬，仄声韵略显短促低沉，形成一种委婉、悠扬而又沉郁的旋律，不仅与赞美、思慕佳人而最终追求不到，无以慰藉情怀的内容相吻合，而且与主人公内心的情感律动相合拍。整首诗在谋篇布局、意象组合、用韵转意、节奏旋律上，都达到了和谐统一。
