初月如弓未上弦，分明挂在碧霄边。
时人莫道蛾眉小，三五团圆照满天。
赋新月译文及注释
译文
新月如弯弓还没有到半个圆，却分明在天边斜挂着。
人们不要小看它只像弯弯的眉毛，等到十五夜，它会团圆完满，光照天下。
注释
赋新月：描写，歌咏新月。赋，铺写，歌咏。新月，阴历月初形状如钩的月亮，即初月。
未上弦：阴历每月初八左右，月亮西半明，东半暗，恰似半圆的弓弦。称上弦，上弦，是说新月还没有还没有到半圆。
碧霄：蓝天。
蛾眉：原形容美人的眉毛，细长而弯曲，这里指新月，月亮弯如蛾眉。
三五团圆：指阴历十五晚上最圆的月亮。
