译文
携手看花，漫步芳丛深径；扶肩待月，双双共倚斜廊。匆匆惜别时，已怅然无措，那情景，此时不堪再回想。
欲寄书信，却恨人如天远；难捱长夜，漫漫夜似年长。小窗风雨清冷，声声碎人愁肠，更无奈，独眠孤舟枕上。
注释
西江月：词牌名，原唐教坊曲，后用作词调。又名“白蘋香”、“步虚词”、“晚香时候”、“玉炉三涧雪”、“江月令”。调名取自李白《苏台览古》“只今唯有西江月，曾照吴王宫里人”。
携手：手挽手，形容很亲密的样子。深径：花丛深处的小路。
扶肩：肩并肩。
临分少伫：临别时少作伫立，表示不忍分离的情态。伫，久立而等待。伥（chāng）伥：迷茫不知所措貌。
此段：近来。《宋书·谢庄传》：“此段不堪见宾，已数十日。”
难销：即难消，难以经得住。

这首词写于行舟江上的风雨长夜，或以为系宋徽宗崇宁四年（1105年）贺铸赴任太平途中所作。

西江月·携手看花深径鉴赏
此词写与GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>情人的别后相思。上片起首二句以极其工整的六言对句，追忆昔日欢会的美好情景，温馨旖旎地写出了男女欢会这样一种典型环境中的典型情态：一对情侣，姹紫嫣红、争芳斗艳的小园深径里携手赏花，夜静人寂、凉风习习的幽雅斜廊上扶肩待月，卿卿我我，情意绵绵。这两句极其生动而概括。
接下来两句一反起首二句追忆欢会时的热烈缠绵，陡然转入当日回想时的悲凉，形成感情上的巨大落差，从而给人以强烈的震撼，产生了动魂荡魄的艺术效果。上句以一“已”字，突出了惜别之际，稍作延伫，已经若有所失、怅然迷茫的悲哀；下句又以“不堪”二字相呼应加倍写出当日回想时的痛心疾首，凄婉欲绝。这两句与李商隐《锦瑟》诗中所谓“此情可待成追忆，只是当时已惘然”可谓意境相类，但各尽其妙。
上片四句，两句一层，情调大起大落。词人一开始就将欢会写得缠绵热烈，细腻逼真，然后当头棒喝，由热烈缠绵一下反跌到悲凉凄惨，形成情感洪流的巨大落差，从而给人以强烈的震撼，使词作含义深远，余味无穷。
下片四句，笔法又有所不同。词人如剥笋一般，层层深入地具体说明往事不堪回首的原因。第一句“欲”字，是说自己主观上的愿望。和心上人分别之后，羁宦天涯，见面固然已属痴想；然而不料就连互通音问，互慰愁肠这一点愿望也由于人如天远，书无由达而落空。主观的愿望被客观的现实无情地击碎，这种情况下去回想旧日的欢会，这是一“不堪”。第二句“难”字，是客观环境对自己所造成的影响。一个人对着孤灯，凄清寂寞，百无聊赖，漫漫长夜中咀嚼着分离的痛苦，当然会产生长夜如年那样难以销磨的无限感慨。这是二“不堪”。第三句“小窗风雨”是耳边所闻。听着风雨敲打窗扉之声，词人不禁肝肠俱碎。“碎”字极炼而似不炼，情景两兼，可称得上是著一字而境界全出。这是三不堪。第四句收束全词，以“更”透进一层，指出以上之种种，全发生；“孤舟枕上”，把羁旅愁思、宦途枨触与恋情打成一片。这是四“不堪”。这四“不堪”齐于一身，已使人难以承受，何况又纷至沓来，一时齐集。

贺铸(1052～1125) 北宋词人。字方回，号庆湖遗老。汉族，卫州（今河南卫辉）人。宋太祖贺皇后族孙，所娶亦宗室之女。自称远祖本居山阴，是唐贺知章后裔，以知章居庆湖（即镜湖），故自号庆湖遗老。
