译文
忧愁与西风应该早有盟约，它们年年一起相会在萧瑟的清秋。长忆旧游于帘帷帐幕风月繁华的扬州，而今形单影只只能在孤灯下重温旧梦，一觉醒来只见屋梁上双燕栖宿明月流照高楼。
绣着鸳鸯的洛带虽已因岁月的风尘而暗淡，还是要梳妆打扮保持原来的美貌风流。万一天涯游子归来见到我，我形容消瘦是为相思而消瘦，我形容憔悴而惭羞也是为他而惭羞。
注释
临江仙：唐教坊曲，后用作词牌，为双调小令。
清秋：清秋节，即重阳节。
扬州：指风月之地。用徐凝《忆扬州》“天下三分明月夜，二分无赖是扬州”句意。
罗带鸳鸯（yuān yāng）：绣有鸳鸯花纹的丝织合欢带。
尘暗澹（dàn）：表示离别时间已久。澹：“淡”的异体字。
风流：指美好动人的风韵，此处有使风韵美好动人的意思。
见：同现，出现。设想情郎来到。温柔：指温柔乡，喻美色迷人之境，此指伊人香闺。
因：一本作缘。

临江仙·闺思创作背景
南宋宁宗开禧二年（1206年），韩侂胄北伐失败，次年被杀。史达祖因曾事韩侂胄而受牵连，被黥面发配外地。此词应该是史达祖在黥面发配外地时所作，这段时间史达祖的生活颠沛流离，十分困苦，与先前在临安的光鲜生活形成鲜明对比。

临江仙·闺思鉴赏
上阕着重写女主人公独宿空房的孤寂心境。开首二句的构思就极为精巧，词人把抽象的“愁”情与无形的“西风”都人格化，它们仿佛早有约会似的，每年要到清秋时节前来赴约，相聚在一起，这就巧妙地把女主人公的心情作了十分富有诗意的表达。“旧游帘幕记扬州”是对思情的极为简练而又非常具体的概括：女主人公当年与她的GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>情人在风月繁华的扬州曾有过一段令人销魂的经历，他们曾在一起偎依相游，曾在帘帏帐幕中卿卿我我。而今“一灯人着梦，双燕月当楼”，写出了闺中人孤独寂寞的境况。词人在这里以“双燕”反衬女主人公独宿空房的孤寂，燕影双双更比照出闺中人形单影只的凄楚。
下阕写女主人公思人时的微妙心理活动。“罗带鸳鸯尘暗澹”表明女主人公翘盼游子久久不归懒于梳妆打扮，鸳鸯带已弃置久矣，但她又觉得应该整顿精神保持自己仪容的美貌风流。“天涯万一见温柔”给这一心理活动作了交代：原来她怕天涯游子万一归来见到自己衣冠不整而失却了爱恋的柔情密意。最后二句“瘦应因此瘦，羞亦为郎羞”是女主人公内心声音的坦诚流露，她遥向远方的GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>情人倾诉：我形容瘦损是因对你的思念而这般消瘦，人们看到我这样憔悴而议论我，羞赧我，我甘愿为你而羞！至此一个痴情女子对爱情的忠贞之情已尽现无遗。
这首小令写闺中人思念远方的游子。词人借闺中人思念远方的游子之意寄托自己黥面受刑发配外地凄凉悲苦生活，而对过去美好生活的愁思和向往怀念。

史达祖1163～1220？年，字邦卿，号梅溪，汴（河南开封）人。一生未中第，早年任过幕僚。韩侂胄当国时，他是最亲信的堂吏，负责撰拟文书。韩败，史牵连受黥刑，死于贫困中。史达祖的词以咏物为长，其中不乏身世之感。他还在宁宗朝北行使金，这一部分的北行词，充满了沉痛的家国之感。今传有《梅溪词》。存词112首。
