花须连夜发，莫待晓风吹。
腊日宣诏幸上苑鉴赏
武则天当了皇帝以后，在一个寒冷的冬天，看见宫庭中的腊梅盛开，突然花兴大发，写了一首催花诗：“明朝游上苑，火速报春知，花须连夜发，莫待晓风吹”，命令百花次日一齐开放。次日，果然各种花果都承旨遵命。武则天到御花园赏花时，气候似乎变得特别暖和，池中冰块都已融化，陡然变成初春光景。武则天见林苑青翠，花开满园，万紫千红，十分高兴，立即命令GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>宫人给这些花木挂以红绸并悬以金牌表示奖励。在百花丛中，唯有牡丹花迟迟未曾开放。武后震怒，命GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>宫人燃炭火烧炙枝梗，牡丹方才怒开。然武则天气愤不息，下令将御花园中几千株牡丹逐出长安，移植东都洛阳，以示惩罚。洛阳因此成为牡丹之乡。百花生日，春花盛开，群芳争艳，南方许多地方常于此间举办花节、花市，供人观赏。繁花似锦的成都“蓉城”，每年二月十五日开始举行花会，届时将奇花异卉置于会场展览交流，是典型的花朝节的遗风。有的地区在花朝节尚有母亲用五彩线给女儿穿耳孔的习俗，盼女儿长大成人如花枝招展。也有一些地方于此日成群结队去郊外春游娱乐，欣赏大自然的美好时光。浙江省湖州一带，人们在花朝节这天，在花盆中插三角小彩旗，以祝贺花的生日。当地人认为此日种花、嫁接，最容易成活。二月二日过花朝节的地方，男女青年有在此日吃露天饭的习俗。

武则天（624年－705年），并州文水（今山西文水县东）人。中国历史上唯一一个正统的女皇帝，也是即位年龄最大（67岁即位）、寿命最长的皇帝之一（终年82岁）。十四岁入后宫为唐太宗的才人，唐太宗赐号媚娘，唐高宗时初为昭仪，后为皇后，尊号为天后。后自立为皇帝，定洛阳为都，改称神都，建立武周王朝，神龙元年（705年）正月，武则天病笃，宰相张柬之发动兵变，迫使武氏退位，史称神龙革命。唐中宗复辟，后遵武氏遗命改称“则天大圣皇后”，唐玄宗开元四年（716年），改谥号为则天皇后，天宝八载（749年），加谥则天顺圣皇后。
