译文
暮春时节，东风吹拂，眼前尽是飞舞的柳絮，好像在催人启程。远望开去，落花流水，芳草连天。看着看着，仿佛是肠断南浦。
檀板一曲，歌声萦耳踏上行程。转眼间一叶扁舟已驶向绿杨深处。送行之人手把酒杯，送别之情难以诉说；也更不忍心听那黄莺乱啼，疏雨滴沥。
注释
夜行船：词牌名，《太平乐府》、《中原音韵》、元高拭词，俱注双调。黄公绍词，名《明月棹孤舟》。双调五十五字，前后段各四句，三仄韵。
行色：行旅。
南浦：送别之处。
檀板：檀木制成的拍板，此处代指乐曲。
人去去：谓友人即将离去。
那听：哪里还有心思去听。

夜行船·满眼东风飞絮鉴赏
上片首先展现的是一派晚春景象，“满眼东风飞絮”六字，让人感受到了作者内心的烦乱，这就把惜别的主基调定了下来。随后直言在日暮的短亭中，友人的离去已近在眼前。“短亭春暮”一语而三义。既点明离别，又交代了离别的时间、地点。然后宕开一笔，写更为广阔的暮春景色；远远看去，落英片片，被无情的流水卷到远方，青草连云，一片凄迷之象。再遥望南浦，更加令人肠断。整个上片，柳絮、落花、芳草、流水、短亭、南浦等意象都充满了伤别伤怀的意味，离愁浓厚。
下片写告别的场景，就在渡口前，主人公为友人设下宴席，请来歌伎，可惜此时情绪烦乱，歌还没唱完，友人便频频道别，走向绿杨深处的舟船。天上下起了小雨，更增重了主人公内心的阴郁：若在寻常时日，细雨黄莺，或许是最美的景致，可今天不是，因为与友人分别的惆怅，已使主人公没有了丝毫的闲情逸致。结二句以递进手法加倍写离情。而“乱莺疏雨”与开篇“东风飞絮”相圆合，始终是恼人的景色，烦乱的心绪。
以景托情，是该词最明显的特点。词中描绘的景色，如果不是在送别的背景下，或许很令人赏心悦目，一旦加入了离情别绪，这些景致便都变得兴味索然，甚至起到了相反的作用。比如连云的碧草，青绿的杨柳，还有疏雨中鸣啭的莺声等。然而与满眼飞絮、落花流水的场景结合起来，让人感受到的，便都是离别时的愁肠了。全词刻画细致入微，情景交融，亦为送别佳作。

欧阳修（1007－1072），字永叔，号醉翁，晚号“六一居士”。汉族，吉州永丰（今江西省永丰县）人，因吉州原属庐陵郡，以“庐陵欧阳修”自居。谥号文忠，世称欧阳文忠公。北宋政治家、文学家、史学家，与韩愈、柳宗元、王安石、苏洵、苏轼、苏辙、曾巩合称“唐宋八大家”。后人又将其与韩愈、柳宗元和苏轼合称“千古文章四大家”。
