译文
天上升起一轮明月，
都说每个地方都是一样的月色。
哪里知道远在千里之外，
就没有急风暴雨呢？
注释
圆魄：指中秋圆月。
安知：哪里知道。
中秋月二首·其二鉴赏
这首诗借咏中秋的月亮，表明世上万物不可能完全一样，存在着千差万别。
“圆魄上寒空，皆言四海同。安知千里外，不有雨兼风。”意思是此时此地“圆魄”（明月）当空，又怎见得此时彼地（“千里外”）“不有雨兼风”呢？千里指很远的意思，风雨可借指人生的无常和艰辛。你怎么会知道外边千里之外的世界，没有风雨呢？
人人“皆言”的未见得就是真理。大千世界，变化万千，人类对自然和社会的认识是随着人类认识能力的提高而不断深化、发展的，一种认识的正确与否，并不取决于持这种认识的人数的多寡，即便对人人“皆言”为是的，也要敢于怀疑，不断深入地探索。其二，认识问题最忌以此代彼，以偏代全，以对局部、片面的现象描述替代对整体或本质的探求。见到此时此地皓月当空而想象四海皆同，便正是以此代彼、以偏概全。
这首五言绝句，写此地有月光，彼地有风雨，意在风雨，而非赏月。李峤其人曾三度任职宰相，对政坛的风云变幻自然十分敏感——高空中一轮明月照射大地，众人都说今夜各处的月光都一样明亮；可是谁能晓得千里之外，无雨骤风狂？这首诗以咏月为题，揭示了一个真理：世上的事千差万别，千变万化，不可能全都一样。正如中秋夜，此处皓月当空，他处却风雨交加。
