惜秋华·七夕创作背景
从词中意思推测，此词当作于公元1245年（宋理宗淳祐五年）之后，当时苏姬刚刚离去，词人已在京城临安。
惜秋华·七夕鉴赏
《惜秋华》，梦窗词入夹钟商。双调，九十三字，上片四仄韵，下片六仄韵。《梦窗词集》收此词调五首，也因句逗有异可分为三格：上片八句，下片九句一格；上下片各九句一格；上片十句，下片九句一格。
“七夕”词除此之外，梦窗集中尚有《六么令·七夕》、《荔枝香近·七夕》、《秋蕊香·七夕》、《诉衷情·七夕》、《惜秋华·七夕前一日GREn/ target=_blank class=infotextkey>送人归盐官》、《醉蓬莱·七夕和方南山》、《凤栖梧·甲辰七夕》等七首词，可以互相参阅。
“露罥”三句。“露”，通路，指小径；“罥”挂、结也。此言七夕之夜，小径上已结起了蛛丝，西面小楼遮暗了斜堕的月儿，秋风吹乱了深夜还在外面的词人头上的花发。“宫漏”两句。“未央”，汉宫名，借指皇宫，可见其词作于京城临安。此言皇宫中正传出漏声，词人想起，传说中王母娘娘狠心地用钿钗划出了一条银河，活生生地将牛郎织女分隔在两岸这一遗憾事。在七夕中自然会想到牛郎织女的传说。“人间”四句承上，引申发挥之。此言人世间的男女爱情也是如梦易醒，似风易散，算起来到是天上神仙度年如日，一瞬而过。所以牛郎织女虽是一年一度鹊桥会，但是这鹊桥相会也会很快地来到的。纵然他们的相逢，似乎有“相见不相识”的滋味，但话说回来，能够有这一年一度鹊桥会的准确时间，总胜得过那巫山神女来去无踪，毫无准讯的好。“巫阳无准”，也喻词人自己与爱人的生离死别，见面无期。
“何处”三句，言不知从什么地方吹来一股凉沁的秋风，耳中顿时听到有桐叶飘落露井台上的簌簌声，触动了词人像屈大夫吟哦着楚辞一般凑成了哀切的韵律。“彩云断”四句，因风起而续幻思。词人因秋风起随即又仰望青天，只见彩云被风分散，就又想象到天上的鹊桥恐怕也被风吹断了吧。那牛郎与织女俩人的离别情，是没有谁能问得清楚的。天上的银河已经把他们阻隔了千万年，人们只能望见织女星闪烁，好像在闪动着她那晶莹的泪珠似的。“轻俊”两句，记地上“乞巧”。“金针”，据《桂苑丛谈》说：“郑侃女彩娘，七夕陈香筵，祈于织女曰：‘愿乞巧。’织女乃遗一金针，长寸余，缀于纸上，置裙带中，令三日勿语，汝当奇巧。”后用作传授密诀之说。此处是说：我望着那些绣娘们在七夕中祈求“金针”，希获“奇巧”的情景，不觉又牵扯出无限感慨。这感慨有对“乞巧”的无用而兴叹，如词人在《六么令·七夕》词中说：“那知天上计拙，乞巧楼南北”，即是指“乞巧”之无用。也有对自己与所爱女子无由再会的哀伤，此由词中“胜却巫阳无准”句里已有所暗示了。

吴文英（约1200～1260），字君特，号梦窗，晚年又号觉翁，四明（今浙江宁波）人。原出翁姓，后出嗣吴氏。与贾似道友善。有《梦窗词集》一部，存词三百四十余首，分四卷本与一卷本。其词作数量丰沃，风格雅致，多酬答、伤时与忆悼之作，号“词中李商隐”。而后世品评却甚有争论。
