哀毁骨立的典故

古代有名的孝子王戎与和峤两人同时丧父母，和峤按照风俗习惯，守孝三年，神气丝毫没有损伤。而王戎则不同，他在父母的灵前搭了一个小棚，整天陪伴父母的灵，十分伤心，而且吃的很少，整个身体变成骨瘦如柴，三年后经很长时间调养才恢复。

王戎、和峤同时遭大丧，具以孝称。王鸡骨支床，和哭泣备礼。武帝谓刘仲雄曰：“卿数省王、和不？闻和哀苦过礼，使人忧之。”仲雄曰：“和峤虽备礼，神气不损；王戎虽不备礼，而哀毁骨立。臣以和峤生孝，王戎死孝。陛下不应忧峤，而应忧戎。”（译：王戎、和峤都很孝，同时死了老母亲。和峤规规矩矩服丧，王戎虽然不遵守规矩路数守孝，却因为痛苦而消瘦得像只干鸡了。）。
