唐朝时期，长安提炼金银的宗某与卖烧饼的陈敬瑄十分要好，为争夺一个美女而反目成仇。两人绝交后，陈敬瑄当上了四川节度使。长安发生叛乱，宗某随逃难人群到蜀地锦江。他四处游荡，隐姓埋名，准备销声匿迹，结果在内江还是被陈敬瑄所杀。
