居安思危的典故

宋、齐等国联合攻打郑国，弱小的郑国知道自己兵力不足，于是请晋国做中间人，希望宋、齐等国家能够取消攻打的念头。其他国家因为害怕强大的晋国，并不想得罪晋国，于是纷纷决定退兵。为了答谢晋国，于是郑国国君就派人献给晋国许多美女与贵重的珠宝作为贺礼。收到这份礼物之后，晋悼公十分高兴，就将一半的美女赏给这件事的大功臣魏绛。没想到正直的魏绛一口拒绝，并且劝晋悼公说：“现在晋国虽然很强大，但是我们绝对不能因此而大意，因为人在安全的时候，一定要想到未来可能会发生的危险，这样才会先做准备，以避免失败和灾祸的发生。”晋悼公听完魏绛的话之后，知道他时时刻刻都牵挂国家与百姓的安危，从此对他更加敬重。
