唐朝著名的文学家陈子昂很有才学，受到武则天的赏识，被任命为随军参谋，遭到将军武攸宜的排斥，在燕地他登上古老的幽州台，想起古代燕昭王重用大将乐毅的故事，就写诗：“前不见古人，后不见来者。念天地之悠悠，独怅然而涕下。
