西汉末年京兆尹陈遵性格豪爽，很有才气，而且非常好客，各地官员和四方豪杰都仰慕他的大名，经常去拜访他。陈遵大摆宴席，陪客人喝酒，为了留住客人，他命令仆人把客人马车上的辖拆下投到井里，客人只好留下来陪他喝酒。
