布衣之交的典故

战国时期，齐国孟尝君没有杀一个与他的小妾相爱的门客，而是给他准备了许多礼物，把他推荐给卫国国君，对他说：“我们是布衣之交，希望卫国能给你伟大前程。”后来卫国准备联络其他诸侯去攻打齐国，该门客极力劝阻，避免了一场战争。
